PDO threading is a cosmetic facial rejuvenation procedure using FDA approved polydioxanone (PDO) sutures, (used safely for decades in surgery) to lift, tighten, firm and smooth your skin. These threads perform lifting and volumizing by generating new collagen and enabling your skin care professional to lift and mold sagging skin into a more youthful position. The results are instant, improve with time, can last for a year, leave no scars, and fully absorb in 6 to 12 months, but produce results that last much longer.
PDO threads stimulate your body to build collagen in the area where the thread is placed. Over a few months the thread is absorbed by the body, but the collagen produced remains in place providing volume and lift. To achieve these results, our clinical team uses three types of threads:
Smooth Threads are used for collagen stimulation to reduce fine lines and superficial wrinkles.
Looped threads provide instant volume and are typically used for better definition of the lip line, and for filling and lifting smile lines.
Barbed threads grasp and hold sagging skin to lift the skin up to a more youthful, Firmer position.
Our clinical team will select the right combination of syringes pre-loaded with the PDO threads, which are then carefully placed; either directionally to mold and lift sagging skin, or in a cross-hatch pattern to provide a strong infrastructure for skin improvement.
PDO threads are an injectable, directional skin firming option. The threads are completely absorbed by your body in 6 months and results typically last about a year. A surgical face lift typically lasts about 5 years.
The up front cost of PDO threads is significantly lower, and you can always come back in a year or two to refresh your results. With a surgical facelift you may not be able to have more than one because of scar tissue created during the first surgery.
There is little to no social or professional downtime after PDO threads injection. There is no need for pain medications or antibiotic. You may have some minor bruising and sometimes a face wrap is recommended to enhance the result, but the wrap is only for night time.

Collagen stimulation refers to the process of promoting the production of collagen in the skin. Collagen is a protein that provides structure, elasticity, and firmness to the skin. Various treatments and techniques can stimulate collagen production, such as laser therapies, microneedling, radiofrequency, and certain skincare products. By enhancing collagen synthesis, these treatments can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, improve skin texture and tone, and promote a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance over time.
